This music scale is derived as an alteration to the Minor's sixth and seventh degrees, it is named the Melodic Minor Scale. This stack has a myriad of harmonic and melodic influences. This eight note music scale is derived by adding a Major 7th interval to the previously listed Dominant 7th Scale. Early pioneers of Jazz music experimented with and adopted this stack mainly to support the melodically improvisational nature of their creation. The strategic placement of the Major 7th creates a leading tone to the scale root, adding fluidity, tension, and resolution. Also, the balance created by the extra note lets chord tones be emphasized on the down beats of a measure. |

This seven-note music scale is derived as an alteration to the Locrian Scale's second degree. This interval arrangement is basically a Minor b7th Scale with flatted fifth and sixth degrees.
